My New 2009 Hairstyle

So...I was bored this weekend and decided to cut all my hair off! I'm actually pretty happy with the results! i really liked all the layered bob hairstyles I was seeing and figured, hey, why not??

I still have bangs although when I had them trimmed they were cut too short!! So I think once they grow out the overall hairstyle will look much better as I have a long face shape and a high forehead. Im curious....What do you think? (and yes, I totally took the after pic myself but only cause my 1.5 y/o daughter cant hold the camera stready yet...haha)

Ok, I know I am a little behind here, but I have been so busy!! Anyhow, better late then never right?!

Christine's Hair Make Over

Christine wants a Make Over!

Christine is a 39 year old mom to twin girls, age 5 She says, "I would like something easy to do and fast. But feminine. My perfect length is right at my shoulder and layers or straight would be fine. I like layers and curls but all the styles were straight for so long.
I don't wear my hair down too often anymore I've noticed."

The first thing I noticed when I saw Christine’s photo was her Diamond face shape. The best hairstyle for Christine will be on that helps to minimize her wide cheekbones and add balance to her narrow chin.

The best hairstyles for this face shape are bob hairstyles which add width at the chin and shoulder length styles. A side part or wispy bangs that lie straight across but are not blunt, will help to make a narrow forehead appear wider and help balance out the face.

Here are some hairstyles that I would recommend for Christine that will also work well with her thick, wavy hair. These cuts are easily styled by straightening with a hair iron or letting your hair air dry, allowing her natural wave to create the style for her. To help tame unruly waves, a quick trick is to use your curling iron to wave hair.

As for hair color, with her dark eyes, hair and her medium skin tone, she is best to stay away from gold, yellow, red and bronze tones in her hair and opt for a deep, rich brown like chocolate or chestnut with ash undertones.

Not too long ago, Tammy herself was looking for a new hair style so she asked me for my advice and together we came up with a few hairstyles and hair color choices and let her readers vote on which look they thought would best suit her. The votes were tallied and Tammy went ahead and got the new hair makeover that was most voted on and the results were FABULOUS!

So now, we have decided to come together and help our readers and any other ladies who may be looking for a new hairstyle. Hair Make Over - A Great Success!

So I just reccently teamed up with Tammy from A Mom in Red High Heels, who was wanting a new, yet subtle, hair style. I was flattered when she asked me to help her choose her new style and color and to be honest, she is such a beautiful woman, it really was not hard, and it was definitley A LOT of fun!

When I first saw Tammy's 'Now' Photo I knew right away she need to go darker. This was for two reasons, the season as well as her skin tone. As for the cut, Tammy didn't want anything drastic as she wants to grow her hair out. So with this in mind I set out to find photos that matched the image in my mind and I found a couple of styles and colors I thought would be great for Tammy.

So, we put the choices up on A Mom In Red High Heels and asked readers to vote on the cut & color. I personally was with Picture #2 & Color #1 (Rachel Stevens) all the way for both cut & color.

Well, the votes were tallied and the readers chose Cut #2 (Yay!) and color choice #2 (Jennifer Aniston) so Tammy took these photos to her hair stylist and well, had her new cut & color.

I have to say, she looks amazing, the color (which actually turned out more like Photo#2 (Yay!) really made a huge impact on Tammy's over all appearance, and the cut, although only subtle, really frames her face nicely.
